A model of the Japanese heavy cruiser Tone in 1:700 scale in the version with the whole hull including the underwater part.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Tone was a heavy cruiser of the Imperial Japanese Navy of the Second World War, and what sets her apart from other cruisers at first glance is the arrangement of her armament. All the main-caliber gun turrets stand ahead of the superstructure, so the whole stern was left clear as a deck for catapults and reconnaissance seaplanes. The ship was to serve as the eyes of the force: to send machines far ahead and report what was approaching, without having to come close herself.
A model of the cruiser Tone in 1:700 scale in the version with the whole hull, that is, including the underwater part, as the Full Hull designation states. The finished ship measures around twenty-nine centimeters. A full hull suits a display case on a base or a scene in a dry dock, because it also shows the shape of the bottom and the propellers. The extent of the package, the number of parts and the extent of the decals are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Plan the order of work: spray the hull and the decks before you fit the small superstructures, the cranes and the guns, as masking is hard to reach afterward. Draw the waterline with a narrow tape stretched around the hull and seal the join with varnish, so that paint does not run under it. Rigging in this scale is made from stretched sprue or from fine thread and is strung right at the end. Before gluing, stick the small parts on a strip of double-sided tape and paint them all at once; it saves searching on the floor.
The model will be appreciated by builders of warships who want an unmistakable Japanese cruiser in their collection and do not mind working with small parts. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
