Fujimi — large IJN harbor cranes, 1:700 is a set of photo-etched parts for building large harbor cranes, an ideal add-on for harbor dioramas with Japanese warships.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi in 1:700 scale for building the large harbor cranes that stood in Japanese naval bases. This is not a ship model but a diorama add-on — it is precisely the massive cranes that give a harbor scene scale, depth and the authentic atmosphere of a naval arsenal.
The Japanese naval arsenals such as Kure, Yokosuka or Sasebo were among the largest shipbuilding complexes of their day. Battleships and aircraft carriers were built in them, and their silhouette was defined by the giant gantry and slewing cranes that lifted armor plates, gun turrets and machinery units. In 1:700 scale they are prominent landmarks, and a convincing harbor diorama cannot do without them.
Bend the lattice structures of the photo-etched parts step by step along the score lines, ideally in a bending tool, and bond them with super glue in small amounts. Degrease the structure before painting and give it a coat of primer. Rust weathering and chipped paint done with washes and drybrushing will give the cranes a working look.
This is an add-on set, not a ship model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
