This set from the Czech maker Eduard holds stainless photo-etch intended to improve the details of the plastic model of the aircraft carrier Nimitz in 1:700 scale. It completes the fine features that injection-molded plastic cannot capture. It is not a ship model in itself; it is an accessory for the base kit.
USS Nimitz is an American nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the lead unit of the supercarrier class of the same name. She entered service in the 1970s and is among the largest warships in the world. She is powered by nuclear reactors, which give her practically unlimited range, and she carries a large air group.
The photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a firm surface and are usually glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Make the bends along the etched score line. Degrease the parts before painting. The set is useful above all for refining the railings, nets, radars, cranes and details of the flight deck and the island.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a kit. The plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
