Resin wheels for a model of the Aero L-39 Albatros in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker Armory. An accessory for a model, not an aircraft kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cast wheels for a model of the Czech Aero L-39 Albatros trainer in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from the kit. The one-piece casting does without the parting line that normally runs through the middle of the tire on plastic wheels, and the fine relief of the hub and the tread stay sharp. In this scale a wheel is only a few millimeters across, so the cleanness of the casting matters.
The L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer from Aero Vodochody that first flew in 1968 and replaced the older L-29 Delfin. It was powered by the AI-25TL turbofan engine, and its two-seat cockpit with the seats in tandem had the instructor's rear place raised. It became one of the most widespread jet trainers of its time and served in many countries, with some of them in a combat version as well. The landing gear got fairly soft tires, because unpaved surfaces were reckoned with for it too.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and sand the face down, protecting your breathing while you sand. Glue with cyanoacrylate, that is, super glue; cement for polystyrene does not hold on resin. Align the wheel with the one opposite before it dries, so that the model does not stand crooked. Spray a primer before painting.
The set is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
