Accessory for the AH-64 Apache model 1:72

A set of parts for adding detail to a model of the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter in 1:72 scale. The Type 2 designation distinguishes a version within the range, because over decades of service the Apache has seen several versions that differ in detail. The real subject

The AH-64 Apache is an American attack helicopter with a crew of two seated in tandem. Under the forward fuselage it carries a trainable cannon, stub wings with pylons for rockets and auxiliary tanks project from the sides of the fuselage, and in the nose there is a sensor turret for night fighting. It entered service in the 1980s and serves in various versions with a number of armies to this day.

Working with the parts

• cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest down
• the parts are not of the same material as the plastic of the kit, so glue them with super glue
• wash and degrease them before painting so that the paint holds
• test-fit the small pieces dry, and only then seat them permanently

Who the set is for

It suits builders who take a helicopter build in 1:72 scale beyond the contents of the box and want the model to match a particular version. 1:72 is a small scale, so it pays to work with tweezers and good light.
