The AH-64D Front electronics + engine set in 1:72 scale from Black Dog aims at the forward electronics section and the engine area of a model of this attack helicopter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory joins two areas of the model that a kit as a rule touches only superficially: the space with the equipment in the forward part of the fuselage and the surroundings of the powerplants. It is fitted onto a model the builder obtains separately and makes sense above all where open panels or a scene with the machine on the ground are planned.
The AH-64D version can be told by the spherical radome above the rotor head, which allows targets to be watched without the machine having to rise above the level of the terrain. The crew sits in tandem, under the nose is a traversing gun turret and there are pylons on the stub wings. The electronics are housed in bays along the sides of the fuselage, whose covers are folded open for servicing on the ground.
Open bays look faithful only when genuinely broken-up contents are visible inside, not a flat face. It is therefore worth painting the interior before the surroundings are closed up and hinting at the shadows between the blocks with a light dark shade. If you are representing the cables and the wiring, always make them thinner rather than thicker than a rough estimate would suggest; in this scale heavy wiring looks out of place.
The buyer secures the attack helicopter model and the paints themselves.
