An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary single-engine Antonov An-2 biplane, or rather of its Chinese licensed version the Nanchang Y-5, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The kit allows the Soviet and the Chinese machine to be built according to the enclosed decals. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with a decal sheet and instructions.
The Antonov An-2 (NATO code Colt) is a single-engine utility biplane and one of the largest series-built biplanes in the world. It became famous for its exceptionally short takeoff and landing, its toughness and its ability to operate from grass strips. It was used for agricultural work, transport, parachute training and military duties. The Chinese licensed Nanchang Y-5 is based on it and spread its use in Asia.
Separate the parts from the sprues, clean them up and glue them with a thin plastic cement. With a biplane, pay attention to the exact seating of the interplane struts and their bracing; letting the joints dry in stages helps. Apply a primer and put the paint on with an airbrush. Mask the cockpit glazing, bring out the engraving with a wash and even the surface out with a coat in the sheen you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
