The Gepanzerter Mannschaftstransportwagen Kätzchen in 1:35 is an injection-molded plastic kit of a German prototype tracked armored personnel carrier from the end of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale depicts the German prototype tracked armored personnel carrier Kätzchen (Gepanzerter Mannschaftstransportwagen) from Thunder Model. The kit stands out for its finely done interior and is completed by photo-etched parts and a decal sheet. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
At the beginning of 1943 the German general staff called for a new armored personnel carrier with high speed, long range and low ground pressure. Working from a chassis derived from the Pz.38(t), the BMM company developed the Kätzchen carrier in 1944. Only two prototypes were built, both with a Praga-Wilson gearbox and each with a different Tatra engine. The vehicle never reached series production and remained at the experimental stage.
Finish and paint the richly detailed interior of the hull first and only then close it up. Blacken the running gear and the tracks before assembly. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate and the plastic with thin model cement. The armor comes to life with a wash in the recesses, mud and dust pigments on the lower areas and fine chipping on the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
