This resin detail set brings a complete cockpit for a model of the AV-8B Harrier II vertical takeoff attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory with which you replace the simplified cockpit from a plastic kit. The set usually contains a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, side consoles and an ejection seat with a fine relief of instruments and controls.
The AV-8B Harrier II is a single-seat subsonic attack aircraft capable of vertical and short takeoff and landing thanks to the vectored thrust of its single engine. It served above all with the Marine Corps for close support of ground forces, attacks on ground targets and operation from small strips and decks. Its glazed cockpit with a good view is among its hallmarks.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water and rid them of mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A primer, a coat of the cockpit shade, a dry brush on the edges and a fine wash in the recesses work well; decals or precise brushwork will bring the instruments to life.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin part. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
