A resin set of the pilots' cockpit and the radio compartment for a 1:72 model of the B-25C/D Mitchell from the Czech brand CMK — a replacement for the simplified interior of the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not an aircraft kit but a detailed resin set. It covers two interior spaces of a model of the B-25C/D Mitchell bomber in 1:72 scale: the pilots' station and the radio operator's compartment. Production kits in this scale tend to simplify the interior down to rough outlines, while the glazing of the Mitchell is extensive and there is a fair amount to see inside.
The B-25 Mitchell is a twin-engined medium bomber powered by Wright R-2600 radial engines. The C and D versions are very close in design — they differed mainly in where they were built — and both have the glazed bomb aimer's nose, which is why they are often dealt with together. The radio compartment lies behind the cockpit and on a model is usually open to view from above.
Try dropping the set into the fuselage dry first; resin parts tend to be bulkier than plastic ones and the inner walls usually have to be thinned down. Cut the casting blocks off with a modeling saw and true the surfaces up with a file, sanding wet and with respiratory protection. Wash the mold release agent off the parts and lay down a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold. Paint the whole interior and bring it out with a wash and a dry brush before the fuselage is glued together — after that you cannot get inside. It pays to mask and varnish the glazing right at the end, so that the cockpit stays legible.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
