Eduard 1:72 Bell P-39Q Airacobra LööK instrument panel is a finished color instrument panel for a model of the P-39Q Airacobra fighter in 1:72 scale. It replaces the part from the kit and lifts the cockpit a level higher at once.

This set from the LööK line of the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains a finished instrument panel, executed in color, for a model of the Bell P-39Q Airacobra aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit and not a photo-etched set you would have to put together and paint: the part is ready to be fitted, so the most demanding detail of the cockpit is dealt with in a moment. In this scale the components have a very fine execution, which shows at once in a small cockpit.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American single-seat fighter with an unusual concept: the Allison engine sat behind the cockpit and drove the propeller through a long shaft under the floor of the pilot's space. Thanks to that the machine had a nose landing gear at a time when a tailwheel was usual on fighters, and the cockpit was entered through doors at the sides as in a car. The P-39Q version belonged among the most numerous series of the type and differed in the arrangement of the armament in the wing. It is precisely the glazed cockpit with a clearly visible interior that makes the instrument panel a very rewarding detail on this type.
Try the part dry before gluing and, if need be, carefully adjust the mating surfaces in the fuselage, so that the panel sits at the right height and in the right plane. Glue in spots with thin superglue or with glue for clear parts, which leaves no clouding. Do not touch the colored surface with your fingers and do not go over it with varnish unless it is necessary. Close the cockpit only after you have checked that the panel is visible through the canopy the way you want.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit of the aircraft. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
