An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer AZ model. The E-4 version is offered here with the markings of the Slovak Air Force, which makes it an attractive subject with a regional angle. The package contains gray and clear plastic parts, decals and color instructions with schemes for several aircraft.
The Bf 109E-4 is among the high points of the Emil, with a modified canopy and heavier cannon armament. The Slovak Air Force operated these aircraft during the war, among other places from the airfield at Piestany, and part of the story of the type is bound up with the period of the Slovak National Uprising. The Emil thus forms an interesting chapter of Slovak aviation history.
With a short-run mold it pays to clean the parts up and test-fit them beforehand. Paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. The Slovak schemes have their own particulars in the markings, so follow the instructions carefully and apply the decals over a gloss finish so that no silvering appears.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
