An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109F-3 fighter in 1:72 scale from Kovozavody Prostejov. The box offers plastic parts and decal markings tied to the well-known fighter pilot Egon Mayer of 1941. It is a simply conceived kit of a popular subject.
The Friedrich version represented an aerodynamically refined stage in the development of the Bf 109, with smoother fuselage and canopy shapes and with engine armament firing through the propeller hub. In the early 1940s the Bf 109F was among the best fighters of its day and the leading German pilots flew it. Egon Mayer made his name above all on the Western Front and was one of the most successful fighter pilots against the heavy bombers.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the seams down. Masks for the glazing, a primer and an airbrush are recommended for faithful gray-green camouflage. Apply the decals over a gloss base and finish the model with a matching varnish; fine exhaust stains and light weathering are typical.
