Additional fasteners for building plastic models. The head is ball-shaped and has a recess for a key with an internal hex. This item carries the size of 0.8 mm, that is one step more than the finest size of the same line.
A difference of a tenth of a millimeter sounds like a trifle, but on a model it decides whether you register the screw at all in an ordinary view. Choose the 0.8 mm one where the joint is sturdy on the real subject and carries a load, that is at the mounting of the engine in the frame, at the footpegs, the exhaust brackets or the caps of covers. Leave the finer size for small instrument fittings. It pays to have both at hand and to lay them side by side before gluing.
Carry the elements with tweezers and set them down on a piece of light-colored card; on a tabletop they are hard to find. Pre-drill the hole with a micro drill bit and try the seating dry first, so that the element seats flat and does not stand crooked. Dose the glue with the tip of a pin. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth element. Spray in thin layers, so that the recess in the head stays legible.
