A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for a model of the American heavy bomber Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is an American four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War and the B-17G version is its last and most numerous guise. You will recognize it by the turret under the nose, which supplemented the defense against head-on attack, that is, against the direction from which fighters attacked the older series most often. The machines flew in tight combat formations, carried conspicuous insignia of their groups on the tail surfaces and wings, and the crews added their own names and paintings to that. With this type the choice of decals therefore decides the final look of a model almost as much as the quality of the build.
This is a standalone decal sheet for a model in 1:72 scale, that is, an accessory to a kit. Which machines the sheet covers, what codes, insignia and inscriptions it carries and how many variants you will build from it is given by the enclosed manufacturer's instructions.
The decals are wet. Cut the element out as close to the artwork as possible, immerse it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest on paper until the film starts to slide freely. The base should be glossy, since on matte paint a silvery veil forms under the film. Slide the element into place, draw the excess water off with a cloth from the center toward the edges and draw it into the engravings with softener. Lay large insignia in the right place at the first attempt, as sliding tears dried film. Finally unify the finished work with a sealing clear coat.
A decal sheet is supplied. The kit, paints, clear coats and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
