BT-7 tank mod. 1935 is a plastic kit of the Soviet fast tank in the early 1935 standard, in 1:72 scale from UM.

An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet BT-7 fast tank in the standard corresponding to 1935, that is the early version with the cylindrical turret. The 1:72 scale suits collectors who build whole collections of vehicles in a single size and need to keep them in a display case. The exact number of parts, the content of the decal sheet and the type of tracks are given in the instructions supplied with the model.
The BT-7 followed on from the earlier types in the line of fast tanks derived from the chassis of the designer Christie. Characteristic were the suspension with large road wheels and long travel, which allowed the tank to run both on tracks and, with them removed, on wheels, and an aircraft engine that gave it a high speed for its day. The main armament was a 45 mm gun supplemented by a machine gun. The version from the middle of the 1930s differs from the later ones in the shape of the turret, the arrangement of the hull armor plates and in details of the exhaust and the tanks — for a modeler that is the main guide, so that the model is not fitted with equipment from the wrong period.
Try the parts dry first; with short-run kits it is normal for the mating surfaces to want sanding down. Assemble and paint the running gear before you cover it with the fenders. Apply the base shade with an airbrush, bring out the edges with a lighter tone and underline the engraving with a light wash. Build dust and mud on the running gear with pigments and, in a small scale, with restraint, so that they do not cover the relief. Glue the small grab handles and aerials on last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
