OFF WHITE, an off-white in a tube

Off-white is more useful in modeling than pure white. A completely white finish looks chalky and flat in a small scale, because in the real world white always leans somewhere, whether to the warm or to the cool side. This shade has a warm cast and suits everywhere white should read as a material rather than as an overlit spot: tarpaulins and covered loads, invasion stripes, painted interiors, ceramics, paper details in a scene and the highest highlights on the faces and cloth of figures. The word acrylic is part of the name of the range; the metal tube holds 20 ml and you squeeze out exactly as much as you need on the palette.

Where to use it

• The highest highlights on cloth, tarpaulin and a covered load
• White stripes and markings that should not look luminous
• Lightening darker tones without losing their color
• Light interiors and painted surfaces of vehicles

Who it will serve

Figure painters who build highlights by mixing them up step by step will reach for it, as will vehicle builders who always found pure white too harsh on a model. The dense paste from the tube can be thinned as needed, but even unthinned it holds the shape of the stroke, so it works well on edges and raised detail.

Close the tube carefully after every use, so the paint does not harden at the neck. Store it out of the reach of children and ventilate during longer sessions.
