C-130 wing leading edges is a Black Dog accessory for Hercules models in 1:72 scale. It concerns the leading edges of the wing.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory is aimed at the forward edge of the wing of the transport C-130. It replaces an area that in plastic tends to be thick, rounded and split by the mold parting line exactly where it is most visible.
On the Hercules an anti-icing system fed with hot air from the engines runs along the whole forward edge of the wing. The edge is therefore divided into separate panels with their own seams and often has a different shade from the rest of the wing. A sharp, thin profile is at the same time what sets a successful model apart from an average one, because a thick edge gives away its plastic origin even from a meter away.
Clean the casting remains off the seating surface and degrease it, otherwise the primer at the boundary between the old and the new part will crack later. Work in one sitting on a whole wing half, so that no step forms in the middle of the span. Check the lengthwise curvature against the light before gluing and even out any difference with a sanding block, not with paper held in the hand. Fill the seam with a thin filler and sand it back before you apply the primer; otherwise every remnant will appear under a glossy coat.
This article does not hold the Hercules kit, filler or abrasives.
