An accessory set of Thompson submachine guns in 1:35 scale for both versions named in the title, the M1928A1 and the M1A1. Armament for figures and for vehicle interiors.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Thompson is an American submachine gun in .45 ACP caliber that became one of the recognition marks of Allied soldiers of the Second World War. The M1928A1 version carries a compensator with longitudinal slots at the muzzle, has the cocking handle on top of the receiver and takes a drum magazine as well. The simplified wartime M1A1 version lacks the compensator, has the cocking handle moved to the right side and uses only straight box magazines. The difference between the two shapes is clearly apparent even in scale.
Armament for 1:35 scale, that is, the size at which a submachine gun makes a clearly readable part. It comes into its own in the hands of figures, in the racks inside vehicles and lying loose in a diorama as a small thing that gives the scene a story. The exact number of pieces and the layout of the parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest carefully, so that the sharp edge of the receiver is preserved. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and apply it in a minute amount. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. A proven painting sequence is a dark base, a rich brown on the stock and the handguard, a steel shade on the barrel and the receiver and finally a dry brush, which picks out the edges and suggests the worn metal surfaces.
For builders of figures, military vehicles and dioramas of the Second World War period in 1:35 scale. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
