This set from the Czech maker Eduard, from its range of resin accessories, contains the landing gear wheels of the Consolidated B-24H Liberator heavy bomber in 1:72 scale. The castings have a faithful tire tread, a well defined hub and a suggested load effect, so the wheels on a model look as though they are under the weight of a heavy aircraft.
Resin wheels replace the usually split plastic wheels with accurate castings with no seams and with sharp detail. On a large bomber the main wheels are conspicuous and their quality affects the overall impression of the landing gear. The accessory is intended for a plastic Liberator kit; it does not contain the model itself.
Separate the wheels from the casting block and clean up the contact patch. Bond with super glue. It is practical to paint the wheels separately from the model; masks can be used for a clean transition between tire and hub. Turn the load effect with its flat surface downward.
This is a detail accessory; paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
