A set of photo-etched parts in 1:72 scale for a model of the British twin-engine de Havilland Mosquito in the B.Mk.XVI version. The metal parts replace details that are necessarily coarser in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The de Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engine aircraft with an airframe of largely wooden construction, which served in many roles from bombing through reconnaissance to night fighting. The B.Mk.XVI version is a purely bomber guise with a pressurized cabin, intended for flight at high altitude and for fast raids without defensive armament. It was precisely the light monocoque construction that gave the aircraft the speed with which it could outrun a good number of opponents.
A set of photo-etched parts in 1:72 scale. Photo-etching is produced from thin metal sheet, so it captures features that in plastic would have to be several times thicker than the real thing. The scope of the parts, their placement on the model and the kit they are intended for are stated in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Cut the parts off with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with cutters, which twist the sheet. Level off what is left after cutting with a fine file. Make the folds along the embossed lines, ideally in a photo-etch bender or between the jaws of flat tweezers. You will not join metal with polystyrene cement, so reach for cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy and apply only a minute amount. Degrease the sheet before painting and lay down a base coat, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
