MH models masks 1:72 for the glazing of a model of the Douglas A-20J and A-20K, that is, the Boston Mk.IV and Mk.V. Pre-cut shapes for the cockpit frames and the glazed nose.
Responsibility details are not available.
You are not buying a model of the aircraft but an accessory for its build. The MH models set contains pre-cut masks for the glazing with which you spray the cockpit frames without cutting tape by hand. In 1:72 scale the frames are very narrow, and that is exactly where a pre-cut mask pays off most.
The A-20J and A-20K were versions of the twin-engine Douglas attack aircraft with a glazed nose, used as formation leaders. In British service they carried the designations Boston Mk.IV and Mk.V. A glazed nose means a large area on a model with a dense network of frames, and their evenness decides the final impression.
Strips of tape cut by hand hold their line less well in a small scale and the frames then come out of unequal width. A pre-cut mask seats every piece accurately and leaves exposed only the strip that is to be sprayed. At the same time it protects the clear parts from being fogged by paint and from fingerprints during the whole build.
Wash and degrease the clear parts before masking so that the mask holds. Press the applied masks down with a toothpick or a stick along the whole length of the edge. Spray the interior color of the frames first, then the external camouflage. Take the masks off only after the last coat has dried, ideally with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers, and treat the clear parts with polishing compound at the end only if need be.
The masks are cut for a particular kit in 1:72 scale; check before you buy that it matches the model you are building. Paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
