This is a resin detail part for more experienced modelers, not an airplane model. The exactly cast exhausts replace the plastic parts from the kit of the American Douglas C-47 Skytrain transport aircraft in 1:72 scale. The resin version has a more accurate shape for the collectors and cleaner detail than injection-molded plastic. The accessory is made by the Czech brand Quickboost (Aires).
The Douglas C-47 Skytrain was the military transport version of the DC-3 airliner, powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp radial engines. In the Second World War it served to carry cargo, to drop paratroopers and to tow gliders, and it became one of the most widespread transport machines of its day. It is its exhaust collectors on the engine nacelles that this set refines.
First wash the part in lukewarm soapy water so that the remains of the mold release from the mold disappear. Cut off the casting block with a knife or a saw, sand the mating surface and glue the part in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways with a respirator while sanding resin. For accuracy the exhaust mouths can be lightly drilled out and weathered in rust shades.
