This resin detail set in 1:72 scale from Aires replaces the cockpit of a plastic kit with a more faithfully worked interior. It usually takes in the cockpit tub, the instrument panels, the side panels, the seat and the controls, all with fine relief. It is not an airplane model in its own right but an accessory for an existing kit.
The Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk was the first aircraft committed to combat that was designed with the emphasis on reduced radar detectability. Its typical feature was a faceted, angular fuselage made up of flat surfaces. It served as a precision attack aircraft for destroying heavily defended targets and was operated mostly after dark.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue. The interior comes out once painted in a base color and the details brought up with a wash and a dry brush. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.
This is a resin accessory for more experienced modelers, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
