Responsibility details are not available.
The set from the Basic Line range of the Czech manufacturer HGW serves for detailing a model of the American Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat carrier fighter in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory for a kit, not the model itself. The Basic Line range concentrates on fine parts that injection-molded plastic in a small scale cannot render in a corresponding thickness, especially the cockpit equipment. The exact composition differs between individual sets according to the real subject.
The Grumman F4F Wildcat was a carrier-based fighter of the US Navy with a stocky fuselage and a Pratt and Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp radial engine. A characteristic element was the manually retracted narrow-track landing gear, which folded into the fuselage. The F4F-4 version received folding wings, thanks to which more machines fitted onto an aircraft carrier, and stronger armament in the wing. The airplane was less agile than its contemporary opponents, but tough and it took damage well.
Prepare the small parts on a surface with a raised edge. Form the fabric items with your fingers and seat them with a natural sag, not taut. Cut the photo-etched parts off with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, deburr them with a fine file and make the bends in a photo-etch bending tool or between steel rulers; degrease the metal and cover it with a primer before painting. If there are masks in the set, stick them on with tweezers, press their edges down and remove them before the paint has fully cured.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
