This set with a resin pitot tube and antennas replaces the coarser plastic parts from the base kit of the American F9F-2 Panther carrier jet fighter in 1:72 scale. The fine castings have a more accurate shape and are ready to fit once the casting blocks are cut off.

The real subject and what the part is for

The Grumman F9F Panther was one of the first successful carrier jet fighters of the US Navy and the first jet fighter from Grumman at all. It was a single-seat straight-wing aircraft armed with four 20 mm cannon that made its mark in the Korean War. Small projecting parts such as the pitot tube and the antennas are easy to break off at this scale, so more exact and stronger castings improve both the look and the durability.

Usage tips

• Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue
• Cut off the casting blocks (gates) and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection
• Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); plastic cement does not hold on resin
• Fit the tiny parts with tweezers and hold them until the glue sets
