Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French Char Leclerc main battle tank in its late 1990s state, in 1:72 scale by Academy. The model captures the characteristic low silhouette of the turret, the modular armor and the long barrel of the 120 mm gun. The small scale makes the Leclerc an ideal piece for a quick build, for a collection of modern armor and for smaller dioramas.
The Char Leclerc is the first main battle tank that France designed on its own, and since the 1990s it has formed the backbone of the French armored forces. It is distinguished by a 120 mm smoothbore gun with an autoloader, a powerful engine giving high mobility and a modern fire control system. Among other places it was deployed on peacekeeping missions in the Balkans.
Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic and clean up the armor joints with a file. Finish and paint the running gear and the tracks before you close up the hull. For weathering, darker washes into the recesses and dust pigments on the lower areas work well. Use a gloss varnish before the decals and a matte one at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
