A small but immensely useful accessory from the Czech brand Hauler: photo-etched license plates for models of German military vehicles of the Second World War period in 1:72 scale. The metal plates with their raised relief look truer than a mere decal - they have a real thickness and, once painted and the characters gently picked out, they give a cargo body or a fender exactly the detail that sets a carefully finished model apart. It is not a model in its own right but an accessory for any models of German vehicles of the period.
During the Second World War the vehicles of the German armed forces carried license plates with a letter prefix according to the branch the vehicle belonged to, followed by a combination of numbers. The plates appeared on trucks, cars, motorcycles and other vehicles, usually at the front and the rear. For a modeler they are a prominent recognition feature that rounds out the authenticity of a vehicle in a diorama and on a base.
Separate the plates from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface and glue them with a small amount of super glue. Before painting, degrease the metal and prime it; once the base shade is on, pick out the relief of the characters with a fine dry brush or a thin brush. Choose the particular form according to the documentation for the vehicle you are building.
This is an add-on set, not a standalone model. It is supplied unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
