The Eurocopter Tiger is a European attack helicopter developed from the 1980s in French and German cooperation. Characteristic features are the tandem cockpit, where the pilot and the weapon systems operator sit one behind the other, a slim fuselage with a small frontal area and extensive use of composite materials. The machine was built in several versions differing in armament and equipment, from the antitank form to the multirole one. Since the version in a particular package varies, it is worth checking the schemes offered in the instructions.
A helicopter in 1:72 scale is mainly about the cockpit and the rotor. Finish and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage, because the large glazing lets you see inside. Mask the glazing with narrow strips of tape or with a ready-made mask; with a tandem cockpit it will take a while, but the result is worth it. Glue the rotor blades on right at the end, as they bend easily and get in the way during painting. The dark schemes of attack helicopters come to life nicely with a gentle lightening of the centers of the panels and a discreet wash in the engraving. Fit the landing gear and the pylons only after the clear coat.
