The Hs 126 was a German two-seat single-engine strut-braced high-wing aircraft, designed in the second half of the thirties for reconnaissance and for cooperation with ground forces. The wing carried above the fuselage and the open observer's cockpit behind the pilot gave the crew an excellent view of the ground, which was the key quality for reconnaissance work. Fixed landing gear and undemanding handling allowed operation from short, unprepared strips. The type also reached several foreign users, and in some countries it was still flying after the period when more modern machines had replaced it in its original service. It is precisely this foreign chapter that is the theme of this release.
The key operation is seating the wing on its struts. Work in stages, dry-fit the parts and use a simple prop that holds the wing at the right height and angle until the glue sets. Finish and paint the interior of the open cockpit before you close up the fuselage — once it is joined it will be visible but out of reach. Mask the glazing and paint it together with the surrounding area. Start painting with a primer; if you are building the machine of a foreign user, check the scheme against the decals in the package and mix the shades on a test piece, because national colors often differ from the ones usual on this type.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
