A finished collector model of the HH-60H carrier-borne helicopter in 1:72 scale from the maker Easy Model, in the late standard with the code NH-614 and the markings of squadron HS-6. The model arrives assembled and painted, with the insignia and codes applied. It is not a kit; nothing is glued, filled or sprayed.
The HH-60H is the naval variant of the H-60 line intended for rescuing crews and for supporting special duties. It differs from the anti-submarine versions in the internal equipment of the cabin and in the absence of sonar equipment. The design is adapted to carrier operation, that is folding main rotor blades and a folding tail section to save room in a hangar, and strengthened landing gear. Two turboshaft engines provide the power, which is standard on machines of this size for flight over the sea.
A late standard usually shows itself in a low-contrast gray finish with subdued markings, which looks matter-of-fact and modern. A model like that looks good in a well-lit display case, where the changes of shape show on the smooth fuselage. A gray surface does emphasize dust, so count on regular dusting. Put the model down on a level surface and do not touch the rotor blades, which are the thinnest and most vulnerable part.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. No glue or paints are needed. An enclosed display case and protection from direct sun are recommended.
