It serves to convert an existing plastic Hurricane kit in 1:72 scale into the photo-reconnaissance version designated PR. Conversion sets of this kind usually replace or supplement the parts of the airframe that differed on the reconnaissance conversion from the standard fighter form. The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter of mixed construction, whose fuselage was a tubular frame with fabric and sheet metal covering. Besides its fighter role the type was adapted for further tasks as well. The photo-reconnaissance conversions designated by the abbreviation PR consisted in fitting photographic cameras and in modifications connected with long flights at greater altitudes. Reconnaissance machines were as a rule lightened and carried finishes different from the ordinary fighter versions.
The conversion calls for cutting parts of the plastic kit away, so lay out the procedure first and measure it against the instructions. Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent and cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw. Do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection. Glue the joint between resin and plastic with cyanoacrylate, that is with super glue, fill any gaps with putty and sand them down. Before spraying, even the surface out with a primer, so that the transition between the materials is invisible.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
