The accessory exhaust nozzle for the F-35A Lightning II in the open position is a resin replacement for the tail end of the engine in 1:72 scale from the Aires brand.

A resin set that swaps the exhaust end of the powerplant for a casting with interior relief. This variant captures the nozzle with the petals open; the same set also exists in a rendition with the petals closed, so the modeler chooses according to how the machine is to be built.
An injection mold cannot cast the thin edge of a nozzle petal or the ring behind it, because it could not be taken apart. The part from the box therefore tends to be thick and hollow inside. The casting, by contrast, offers the individual nozzle petals, the overlap of the panels and a depth that can be looked into from the rear, and on an aircraft with a single nozzle that is the dominant view.
The F-35A is the land-based rendition of the Lightning II with conventional takeoff and landing, which Lockheed Martin supplies to the US Air Force and to a number of allies. It is driven by a single jet engine of extraordinary power, and the shape of the whole machine including the exhaust end is subordinated to a reduced radar signature. The A version is the most numerous of the whole family and makes up the core of the orders from foreign users.
