A mask set in 1:48 scale in the widest coverage for the Soviet transport helicopter. It covers the cockpit glazing, the cargo compartment windows, the wheels and the inner side of the windows. Cut for the Trumpeter model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mil Mi-4 had a radial engine in the front of the fuselage and, high above it, a pilot's cabin with a view downwards. At the rear, large doors with a ramp opened, through which a light vehicle could drive into the cargo compartment or a landing party could board. The layout resembles a contemporary American machine, but the Soviet helicopter was larger and carried considerably more.
It first flew in 1952 and spread to dozens of countries, including Czechoslovakia, while a license-built variant was produced in China. The transport version served armies as well as civilian operators and in many places stayed in service for over thirty years.
The most complete level covers the front and side glazing and also the windows in the cargo compartment, the wheels and the inner side of the glazed parts. The cut matches the 1:48 kit from Trumpeter.
The four-blade main rotor was driven by a shaft led at an angle upwards across the whole pilot's cabin, so a substantial cover ran between the seats. On a model this is one of the details that everyone who looks in through the open doors notices.
The glazed nose is very broken up, so apply the masks to it calmly and one part at a time, so that thinner from the first coat does not creep under the edge. Give the paint time to set between individual passes, otherwise the edge of the mask tears needlessly when it is removed.
