The set from the Black Dog brand belongs among accessories cast in resin and is intended for the Tiger Model kit of the American main battle tank fitted with the TUSK package. It is not a kit of the vehicle but the material with which a finished hull is brought to life. Black Dog makes an extensive range of similar sets for all kinds of vehicles in this scale, so a whole display case can be fitted out in the same hand.
The abbreviation TUSK refers to a package of items with which the American army fitted out Abrams tanks for fighting in built-up areas. It included protective panels on the sides, slat armor shielding the rear against rocket-propelled grenades, a shield for the loader and a telephone at the rear through which escorting infantry could talk to the crew. The crew meanwhile piled its own gear on the hull, because fighting in a city goes on for a long time and supplies have to be at hand.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water, otherwise the mold release agent will keep the paint from drying. Remove the casting blocks with a saw or a knife with a new blade, and never break them off. Cyanoacrylate glue holds the joints; ordinary cement for plastic does not work here. Sand wet and protect your airways, as resin dust does not belong in the lungs.
