An accessory set for the M3A3 light tank in 1:72 scale from the Black Dog model brand adds external gear and crew stowage to a finished plastic model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This product is not a tank but a collection of resin castings that the modeler adds to an already built plastic chassis. The point is to rid a small model of its empty, workshop look and give it the appearance of a machine in service in the field.
The M3A3 was the last development version of the American M3 series of light tanks, nicknamed the Stuart. Against the older machines it was given a welded hull with sloped sides and an increased fuel capacity. It served with American units and with the Allies, to whom it was delivered under the lend-lease program, and it was used mainly for reconnaissance, for patrol duty and to escort infantry. Crews commonly lashed their own baggage, shelter halves and boxes to the hull, because the space inside was very cramped.
Free the resin parts of grease with a short bath in warm soapy water and let them dry. Remove the casting gates with a saw and level the rest with a file, ideally under running water because of the dust. Attach them with cyanoacrylate glue, or with its gel grade, which gives time to adjust the position. Paint the stowage separately from the hull and seat it only afterwards; it is easier to reach the shadows between the individual pieces with a brush that way.
