1:72 Mask Avro Shackleton AEW.2 Propellers (REV)

1:72 Mask Avro Shackleton AEW.2 Propellers (New Ware)

This is a specialized mask set, not a model. It holds pre-cut (die-cut) self-adhesive masks in kabuki tape intended specifically for the propellers of the model of the Avro Shackleton AEW.2 in 1:72 scale. The masks help to spray the propeller blades and their warning and contrasting areas cleanly, which is otherwise lengthy work by hand with tape.

The real subject

The Avro Shackleton was a British multi-purpose airplane with a long range; the AEW.2 version served as an airborne early warning machine. It was powered by powerful engines with contra-rotating propellers, which are characteristic of this type. It is precisely the numerous and broken-up propeller blades that are among the details whose painting takes the most time.

Use

• Apply the masks to clean propeller blades before spraying.
• Kabuki tape makes crisp boundaries possible between the color of the blade and the warning areas.
• Take the masks off carefully once the paint has dried.
• It suits repeatedly accurate masking of all the blades.

Who the set is for

• Modelers who want clean and uniform spraying of the propellers.
• Builders who mind lengthy masking of small areas by hand.
• Enthusiasts of British postwar aviation equipment.

The set holds no paints, glue or model. It is an aid for painting the propellers.
