A photo-etched set in 1:72 scale for a model of the Soviet MiG-17 fighter. It adds metal parts to the model in a thickness plastic cannot reach.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-17 is a Soviet single-seat fighter with one jet engine, following on from the older MiG-15. Its hallmarks are the markedly swept wing with aerodynamic fences, the circular air intake in the nose and the cannon armament under the cockpit. The machine was built in large numbers, flew in dozens of countries and stayed in service in many of them for decades, so a model can be built in a whole range of finishes.
Photo-etched metal parts in 1:72 scale for adding to a MiG-17 model. In this scale plastic is too coarse for fine elements, while photo-etched sheet keeps a true thickness, so items such as grilles, flaps or the faces of the instrument panel look more faithful. Which parts the set contains and which kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions, so check that it matches your model in advance.
Work over a tray with a raised rim, otherwise a part you cut off will end up on the floor. Separate the parts with a sharp blade, not with scissors, and level the remains of the tab with a sanding stick. Make the bends in a bending tool or over the edge of a ruler, never with your fingers. Use cyanoacrylate in a tiny amount for gluing; ordinary polystyrene cement does not hold on metal. Degrease the metal before painting and spray a primer on. If the set replaces a plastic part, cut the original shape away and level the area before fitting the part.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
