An injection-molded plastic kit of the supersonic MiG-21MF fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Eduard in the popular ProfiPACK edition. To the plastic parts it adds photo-etched parts (some pre-painted), self-adhesive masks for the glazing and a decal sheet with several marking options. The interceptor boxing focuses on MiG-21s in the interceptor role.
The MiG-21 is among the most widespread supersonic fighters in history. The MF version was one of the most heavily built; it was powered by a Tumansky R-13 engine and carried a built-in cannon as well as air-to-air armament. It served with the Soviet Air Force, with the states of the Warsaw Pact and with many other countries and took part in a number of conflicts.
Bond the plastic with liquid modeling cement and fill and sand the joints if needed. Lay down a base coat before painting; an airbrush works well for spraying. The pre-painted photo-etched parts make building the cockpit easier, and the masks enclosed sharpen the painting of the cockpit frames. Apply the metallic shades on the rear fuselage only onto a smooth surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
