Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Mil Mi-26 heavy transport helicopter in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. It is a large model with crisply engraved panel lines, a very detailed cargo compartment interior, an openable rear ramp and side hatches and an eight-blade main rotor. Because of the size of the real aircraft, the assembled result is an imposing model around half a meter long.
The Mi-26 is the largest series-built helicopter in the world and carries the NATO code name Halo. Its eight-blade main rotor lets it lift loads no other helicopter can manage, including vehicles and equipment inside the cargo cabin. It serves for military and civil transport of heavy loads, for firefighting and for rescue operations with a number of operators around the world.
Glue the large fuselage together in stages with thin cement for plastic and keep an eye on symmetry; finish the detailed interior before you close up the cargo cabin. The extensive surfaces are best painted with an airbrush over a coat of primer. Give the eight-blade rotor and the glazing particular care, and pick out the engraved lines with a light panel wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
