A set of die-cut self-adhesive Montex masks for a model of the Czechoslovak sporting aircraft Mraz M-1C Sokol in 1:72 scale. For its size the Sokol has conspicuously large cabin glazing - and framing it is the most laborious part of the build when masking by hand. The finished templates only need to be transferred to the model, pressed down and sprayed; the result is a sharp, clean line. The set is cut to fit a particular kit, so check compatibility with another one beforehand.
The Mraz M-1 Sokol is the pride of Czechoslovak postwar aviation. This elegant low-wing monoplane of wooden construction with a retractable main undercarriage came about in the Mraz works at Chocen and shortly after the war became one of the most successful Czechoslovak export aircraft - Sokols flew in a whole range of countries in Europe and overseas and made their name with several remarkable long-distance flights. The M-1C version was one of the most widespread variants. For Czech modelers it is a subject close to the heart, which in 1:72 scale is a pleasure on a shelf and on a competition table alike.
Degrease the surface before application and check that the previous layers are cured. Transfer the masks with tweezers and burnish the edges down with a toothpick - on a rounded canopy work from the center toward the edges, so that the film does not ripple anywhere. Spray light layers and take the masks off slowly at a sharp angle before the paint has fully cured.
This is a masking accessory - the kit of the aircraft is not included in the package.
