P-40B/C Warhawk exhausts in 1:72 scale are resin replacement exhausts from Quickboost for a model of this American fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory from the Quickboost brand brings accurately cast exhaust stubs for a model of the American Curtiss P-40 Warhawk fighter in the B and C versions in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but a replacement part that replaces the simplified exhausts from the box with more faithful castings with a fine surface and a suggested bore in the outlet.
The P-40B and P-40C were among the early versions of the famous Warhawk, known in British service as the Tomahawk, powered by an Allison V12. Along the sides of the engine they carried rows of exhaust stubs that are a prominent detail right in the line of sight of the nose. A good casting with a realistic shape and individual bores lifts the look of the engine section more than the smooth plastic parts from the box.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent because of the remains of mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate. The outlets can be gently drilled for effect and brought out with dark metallic and rusty shades.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
