Eduard P-51D-5 Mustang LooK 1:72: an instrument panel for the early production blocks of the Mustang with the bubble canopy.
Responsibility details are not available.
This small but effective set of the LooK range from Eduard is devoted to the instrument panel of the P-51D-5 Mustang fighter. It is not an aircraft model; the accessory deals with a single element of the interior, but the most closely watched one. Thanks to its bubble canopy the Mustang has a cockpit visible from every angle, so investing in a well drawn panel pays off even in the small 1:72 scale.
The North American P-51D was the peak of development of the famous escort fighter: an unframed bubble canopy, six 12.7 mm machine guns and a Packard Merlin engine with outstanding performance at high altitude. The D-5 block was the first mass-production form of this shape; some of the early machines still flew without the dorsal fin ahead of the tail, which was added later. Escorting bombers deep over Germany is among the most famous chapters of the type.
Before seating it, compare the width of the panel with the fuselage half-shells of your particular kit and make any small adjustment on the mating surfaces, not on the face. Apply the glue in spots and in a minimal amount. Choose the interior green or the black of the surrounding areas according to the documentation for the particular machine.
