A vacuum-formed clear cockpit canopy for a model of the UH-1B helicopter in 1:72 scale, cut for the Italeri kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The UH-1B is an American light multipurpose helicopter of the Bell 204 series, which earned the nickname Huey. It carries a two-blade main rotor, skid landing gear and a conspicuously glazed front part of the cabin with curved front panels and the pilots' side doors. It is precisely the glazing that is the most conspicuous transparent part on a model, and its thickness decides how cleanly you can see inside.
It is a clear canopy made by vacuum forming. Such a part has a substantially thinner wall than an injection-molded canopy from a kit, it distorts the view into the cabin less and the frames on it look more subtle. The set is prepared for the kit of the Italeri brand in 1:72 scale.
Cut the part out with a small overhang and sand the edge down gradually on abrasive paper laid flat, until it sits exactly on the outline of the fuselage. Try it often and take the material away in small steps, because sanded-off material never comes back. Glue with dispersion or modeling clear glue; cyanoacrylate glue will cloud a transparent surface. Mask and spray the frames before fitting the canopy, and take the mask off once the paint has dried.
It is an accessory for a build. The kit of the model, paints, masks and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
