Resin propellers for the PBY-5 Catalina in 1:72 scale from Quickboost — a precise detail accessory; it is not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Resin propellers from Quickboost for the American Consolidated PBY-5 Catalina flying boat in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model, but a precise replacement part for more experienced modelers that replaces the plastic propellers from the kit with castings with a faithful blade profile and a fine hub. The propellers are a visually prominent element, and straight, crisp blades lift the impression of a finished model.
The Catalina was a twin-engine maritime flying boat and amphibian, widely deployed for maritime patrol, search and rescue work during the Second World War. Its two propellers are clearly visible; plastic blades tend to be thicker and bend easily. The resin replacement offers a thinner, more accurately shaped profile. The part is meant to refine an existing Catalina model in the same scale.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp knife or a fine saw and clean up the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the blades according to the real machine and suggest wear on the leading edges if you wish; the propeller hubs are usually in a metal or dark shade.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
