An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet twin-engine dive bomber Petlyakov Pe-2 in the 55th series version with ski landing gear for winter operation, in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer UM (Unimodel). In the package there are plastic parts and a decal sheet.
The Pe-2 was one of the most important Soviet twin-engine combat aircraft of the Second World War, used as a dive and level bomber as well as in the reconnaissance role. For operations from snow-covered and unprepared airfields the machines were fitted with ski landing gear in place of wheels, which this version captures.
Glue the plastic with a thin model cement and mind the precise fit of the engine nacelles and the glazing. We recommend a base coat and an airbrush; a winter scheme with a white finish comes out well after a fine patina and a hint of worn-through paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
