Armory 1:72 Pz.Kpfw.V Ausf.D Panther detailing set is a photo-etched accessory set for refining a model of the Panther tank in the Ausf. D version. It is an accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is an accessory to a model, not the model itself. It holds photo-etched metal parts that replace, on a kit of the Panther tank in the Ausf. D version, the elements a plastic mold cannot make thin enough: the fenders and their brackets, the engine deck grilles, the tool clamps, loops and similar detail. In 1:72 scale the difference between a plastic and a photo-etched fender is immediately apparent.
The Pz.Kpfw. V Panther was a German medium tank of the Second World War. The Ausf. D version is the first production form, which differs from the later versions among other things in the shape of the commander's cupola, in the treatment of the front armor plate with the so-called letterbox for the machine gun, and in the arrangement of the side covers over the running gear. The vehicle had sloped armor and a long gun barrel; the running gear was made up of interleaved road wheels, which is a characteristic and demanding element on a model.
Cut the parts off with a scalpel and do not break them away. Make longer bends over a metal rule or in a bender, so that the edge stays straight. They are glued with super glue or with solder. Degrease the metal before painting and put a primer on. With the Panther it pays to finish the running gear and the side covers before the fenders are glued on, because otherwise you will not be able to get at them. The patina is then built by a wash into the hollows and pigments for mud and dust effects.
The set is supplied unpainted and is intended for working a kit up. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package. Please check that it matches your kit before buying.
