It serves to raise the detail of a plastic model of the American carrier-borne reconnaissance aircraft RA-5C Vigilante in 1:72 scale. The fine metal parts complete and refine elements that are hard to achieve in plastic in this small scale.
The RA-5C Vigilante was the reconnaissance version of the heavy carrier-borne Vigilante, operated from American aircraft carriers. It stood out for its performance, its size and its advanced equipment for photographic and electronic reconnaissance. The photo-etched set helps carry those details onto a model with greater fidelity.
The photo-etched parts are taken out of the fret, bent precisely according to the instructions and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Given the small 1:72 scale, tweezers, a sharp knife and a photo-etch bender come in useful. Once glued on, the parts can be sprayed with paint along with the rest of the model. The set is made for use with an RA-5C Vigilante kit in 1:72 scale.
The set holds no plastic model, no glue and no paints; those have to be bought separately.
