A set of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from Xtradecal. It holds letters and numbers in a dull dark red at a height matching 36 inches. It serves for making up codes, serials and individual characters of British aircraft. The decals are in accurate register and have clean edges.
British aircraft of the Second World War were marked with code letters and serials, which identified the squadron, the particular machine and its record. For some uses, night ones above all, a dull dark red was used. Characters 36 inches high cover the usual sizes on the fuselage and the wings. From the loose letters and numbers you make up a combination to match your subject.
Work over a smooth gloss varnish. Cut the individual characters out, dip them in lukewarm water for a few seconds and slide them onto the surface of the model; watch for even spacing and alignment. For perfect settling, use softening and setting solution and finally go over everything with a protective varnish in the degree of gloss you want.
This is a stand-alone set of decals. The model, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package.
