The photo-etched accessory set 1:72 S-100 Schnellboot from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is meant for a model of the German fast torpedo boat of the S-100 class in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model of the boat.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the German S-100 type fast torpedo boat in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit and the boat cannot be built from it; this is a set of parts in thin metal sheet with which the modeler replaces or adds detail on a plastic model already bought.
The Schnellboot was a German fast torpedo boat of the Second World War period, built as a long, slender craft with diesel propulsion and torpedo tubes in the bow. The S-100 type is a late development version with an armored bridge. In the large 1:72 scale the boat is roughly half a meter long, so every detail of the deck and the superstructures shows markedly, and that is the reason photo-etched sets are bought for it.
Before you start, go through the instructions and decide which plastic parts you will replace. Thick castings are cut off with a knife or a saw, and the surface is then trued up with a file and sanded back. Remove the photo-etched parts with a scalpel against a hard surface and sand the remainder of the tab down at once. Make the folds on the scored line and use a bending tool, because at this scale the parts are large enough for hand-folded edges to ripple visibly. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue in small doses; for painting use a thin primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the metal.
